Non-Immigrant Visa O-1
The O-1 visa is for individuals with extraordinary abilities in fields such as sciences, arts, education, business, or sports, or those with significant achievements in film or television. It requires a job offer from a U.S. employer or agent who acts as a sponsor. Initially, it can be granted for up to three years, with possible one-year extensions for continuing the same activity. O-2 and O-3 visas are available for assistants and family members, respectively.
The O-1 visa is for individuals with extraordinary ability or achievements, defined as follows:
- An individual foreign national who has demonstrated extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics through sustained national or international acclaim and who is coming temporarily to the United States to continue work in the area of extraordinary ability.
- A foreign national who has a proven record of extraordinary achievements in the motion picture and/or television industry and who is coming temporarily to the United States to continue work in the area of extraordinary achievements.
